How to remove co-authoring from Word ribbon

In a few simple steps you can remove the co-authoring section from MS Word. Similar steps can be applied to achieve the same result in MS Excel or PowerPoint.

  1. Get a sample 'imWordRibbon.15.xml' file from iManage Help Center -> Releases -> iManage Work Desktop for Windows 10.x.

  2. Open the XML and comment out the following section:

    imanage word ribbon config file
  3. Save the modified XML here: 

    %localappdata%\iManage\Work\Configs

 

Please consult the change with your IT team as that XML file might be centrally managed and you may override the global setting.
